Together for Maui and Lāhainā: Every Little Bit Helps

Aloha dear readers,

Today, I write not just as an individual, but as a member of a larger community that believes in the essence of 'ohana - family. When one member of our family is in pain, it affects us all. Right now, Maui and Lāhainā are facing challenges that are tearing at the fabric of their communities, and they need all of us to come together in solidarity and support.

The beauty of Hawai'i lies not just in its serene landscapes, but also in the spirit of its people. We share, we care, and most importantly, we stand up for each other. The recent hardships faced by our brothers and sisters in Maui and Lāhainā have deeply moved me, as I'm sure they have many of you.

While many of us may feel helpless watching from afar, we are not powerless. Acts of kindness and compassion, no matter how small, can create ripples of change that make a significant impact. Every donation, every message of support, and every act of volunteerism brings hope and strength to those who are suffering.

This is why I am reaching out to each one of you today. The Hawai'i Red Cross is actively working on the ground, providing essential relief and resources to those affected. But they can't do it alone. They need our help.

If you are in a position to do so, I hope you'll join me in donating to the Hawai'i Red Cross. Even the smallest contribution can go a long way in providing food, shelter, and much-needed relief to our 'ohana in Maui and Lāhainā. You can donate by visiting the Hawai'i Red Cross Donation Page.

For those who cannot donate, your prayers, positive energy, and spreading the word are equally valuable. Share this message with friends and family, on social media, or in your communities. Together, our collective efforts can help heal and rebuild these beautiful parts of our island home.

Remember, Hawai'i is resilient. Our spirit, culture, and values have always guided us through the toughest of times. Let's come together, as we always do, and show Maui and Lāhainā that they are not alone. That their 'ohana stretches far and wide, ready to lend a hand.

Mahalo nui loa for your kindness and aloha spirit. Together, we can make a difference.

With warmest aloha, Tony Hicks
